The beginnings of the business

The shop has been opened for the first time on May 1, 1922, by Antonio Sotriffer in collaboration with his wife Notburga Demetz.
It all started with an essential activity in the production and export of toys and the sale of many other Export-Toys-Edible-Colonial-Haberdashery items.

The activity of the shop was connected to that of the ANSO Company, which derived its name from the initials of Antonio Sotriffer: the company’s headquarters were located in the Purger House in Ortisei, a historic building currently transformed and used as the House of Culture. The toys made by the ANSO company were conceived and designed by the architect Anton Hofer and Giulio Sestini, two prestigious names that characterized some design trends of the 1920s.
The whole family collaborated in the shop’s various activities, which gradually became a place of cultural exchanges and encounters.

From the 60s to today

After the sudden death of the founder Anton, his son Guido, an artist and sculptor, takes over from his father in the management of the shop. To Guido’s wife, Cristina Niederwieser, we owe the flowering business that over the years has been enriched with new products, specializing in increasingly refined and selected toys thanks to a constant cultural deepening in the direct and continuous relationship with producers and experiences Beyond the Alps, especially in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.

This is how the shop became what it is today, thanks to a continuous cultural exchange with customers from all around the world.
